Cruise Guide

Passports and visas

All passengers must be in possession of a full passport, valid for the entire period of the cruise holiday and must be valid for at least 6 months prior to the return date to Australia or New Zealand. Passengers should note it may take weeks to obtain a passport from a local Passport Office especially in peak times and we recommend allowing plenty of time for applications to be processed. All individual passengers are responsible for reviewing and obtaining any required visas. Passengers are advised to check with their travel agent or relevant country consulate for full visa requirements and details in plenty of time.

Health and medical requirements

All passengers should check with their doctor or travel agent which vaccinations and/or medication is required for personal travel or may be recommended for the countries to be visited. If you require medication or special cosmetics, please bring an adequate supply. The ship's medical facility may not always have your specific type or brand on board, nor may it be available at ports of call. Passengers that wear glasses or contact lenses, it is advisable to take an extra pair in case of any loss or damage. MSC and/or the Master of the vessel reserve the right to refuse passage to anyone who has failed to give notice of any handicap or disability (mental or physical) or the need for assistance while cruising, beyond that which the staff on the vessel normally provide; or to anyone who, in the opinion of MSC and/or the Master of the vessel, is unfit to travel or whose condition may constitute a danger to themselves or others on board. Every ship carries a doctor and medical personnel who are able to treat ailments and minor injuries. Medical services are chargeable onbard the ship. Q: Clothing A: Lightweight, loose-fitting clothing is ideal in the daytime. Be sure to bring head covering too. For informal evenings, we recommend summery dresses for women and lightweight jackets for men. For those few formal evenings, cocktail dresses for the ladies and lightweight suits, or even dinner jackets for men are recommended.

What to take with you

Light, casual clothing for everyday wear. Make sure you dress comfortably. Take a swimming costume along, as all our ships have swimming pools. With regards to footwear, you should wear comfortable shoes for our land excursions and sandals or rubber-soled shoes for walking on deck. If you like keeping fit and taking part in sports activities, take the sportswear and gym shoes you might need. We recommend a hat or visor against the sun.
